The International Center for Social Research is an independent research institution dedicated to the scientific study of society and committed to promoting excellence in sociological research and theory through rigorous scholarly inquiry, international collaboration, and the dissemination of peer-reviewed research, including through the publication of fully open access, peer-reviewed academic journals freely available online upon publication and without access restrictions.
The primary mission of the Center is to support, conduct and facilitate social scientific research, stimulating and improving research, instruction, and discussion, and encouraging cooperative relations among persons engaged in the scientific study of society.
To achieve this aim, the Center fosters relations between persons engaged in the study of Sociology in all countries of the world, and stimulates interest in sociological matters among governments, national and international organizations, scientific bodies and the general public. The Center organizes meetings and conferences, and publishes scientific information dealing with sociological issues.
The Center is organized and operated exclusively for scientific, educational purposes. It does not profit from its scientific activities, does not attempt to influence legislation as a substantial part of its activities, and does not participate at all in campaign activity for or against political candidates.
The Center sponsors activities that are tied to its purposes. These include promoting academic and applied research of highest quality, encouraging excellence in social research through a variety of research methodologies, and undertaking collaborative and community-based research with scholars, organizations, and institutions at the local, regional, national and international level.
